Arctic Ground Squirrel Fun Facts
Alaska Department of Fish and Game

gray paw Camp Update from Brad:

Lots of bears fishing and getting fat! Fresh wolf tracks in the area daily. Also, seen in the area are river otters, sea otters, sea lions, eagles, shorebirds, as well as this lil' guy in the photo above. He (or she) popped up when Brad was down on the beach gathering firewood, and Brad states he's never seen it around camp before. This is an arctic ground squirrel, and we hope you enjoy learning more about it.
