Update from Camp: 07.19.11

Camp Update: From Brad...

The fish are coming!  As if this morning a mix of Dolly and Chum have begun swimming into the creek area, with more to arrive in the next few days.  Wildife activity has increased, too.  Following the arrival of the larger fish, many more bears and wolves can be seen in the area of the meadow, creek, Rock Island and beach.  Bears have started to check the creek at lowtide and can be seen chasing fish along the surfline.  We have news of an eaglet (juvenile eagle) sitting on the rock ledge with parents out on Rock Island.  Eagles don't like wolves patrolling the island for food and have been swooping at them whenever the wolves go near. Our guests have got some pretty neat photos of it.  There was a wolf that swam out to the island the other evening around 10:30pm to feast on a seal that had washed up.  The wolf left the island the next morning at low tide... seems it didn't want to share the bounty!

There is always something going on out at Camp.
