As we sat on the mud flats by the creek, we watched as three bears chased salmon up and down the creek. A wolf came walking over the sand bank and sat down to watch the bears fishing. Ursula caught a fish and quickly ate it as the wolf came over to her. He sat patiently waiting for any little scraps she might leave behind. As Ursula consumed the entire fish, she ran back into the water to catch more fish. The wolf tried a few times himself to catch some salmon but did not have any luck. The wolf then waded across the creek and walked over in our direction on the mud flats. He came very close to us with such a curious and inquisitive manner, watching us and getting our scent. It is amazing how large a wolf acually is when you are ground level with him and he is approaching very close. After he was satisfied that we were just another form of wildlife at the creek, he casually walked off up the creek to practice his fishing skills.
