Sunday around camp

Last evening, Fannie and the camp setup-crew took a little time and went down to the creek and were able to observe 5 bears out near the meadow feeding on sedge grass. Hard to determine which bears, as they still carry their thick winter coats. There was a chill in the air, so when they got back to camp, the Cook had the fireplace going and was making popcorn and hot chocolate. Very cozy!
Simyra departed Homer at 8:15am this morinng, heading out for Katmai to recon some new bear viewing areas around the Camp for day trips. She had her 2 guides, plus 2 managers of the exclusive Copper Whale Inn, of Anchorage. They may decide to stay out at Camp for a few days, rather than returning with Simyra tonight as the weather looks good.
Fannie said she hasn't seen the white wolf, but hopefully she'll get a picture of it next time and we'll all be able to see what it looks like!
