Bear: Molting ©BGarasky
Field Notes by Brad:
Pink salmon in bay are starting to make a run up the creek. Bears are enjoying fishing, and wolves are patrolling beach and creek banks. The eagles are perched in trees watching all the activity. And sea lions are chasing fish all around the bay. Lots of activity when the fish arrive!
Also, it seems we have a lot of wolves in the area, at least by all accounts of the howling we heard last night. Guess they're getting the word out about the salmon!
The photo below, taken in early July, shows how our bears will molt (shed last winter fur):

Bear: Up For Air ©BGarasky
Field Notes by Brad:
Bears are ready to fish! Lots of pushing, shoving, and chasing going on with everyone trying to sort out who's fishing hole is whose and the order they get to fish in.
Even have a wolf thats been getting in on the action and catching some fish out of creek and pursuing bears in hopes of any scraps getting dropped.
