Field Notes: from Brad: Keyhole Lagoon Hike

gray paw Field Notes from Brad:

Here are a few pics of the day hike to Keyhole Lagoon on Sunday. Crossing Clint's Creek was a little interesting after all the rain we've been having, almost waist deep and moving pretty swiftly. Everyone was a trooper and unanimously voted to "go for it." We made it through unscathed but a little wet, although with the beautiful sunshiny day we dried out in no time.

Guess the long hike, treacherous creek crossing and warm weather tuckered everyone out. Caught all 6 guests sleeping in the wildflower meadow at once, but I like this pic the best with the bear off in the background. (see below)

Lots of activity down Keyhole way, mom and spring cubs, sub-adult that wanted to join mom and cubs (probably off spring of mom) but kept getting run off. And lots of grazing going on in meadow behind Keyhole Lagoon, think total count was 9 bears. It was a good day for a summer walk on Hallo Bay's wild side! -Brad
