John's Camp Diary: August 2009

It was rainy and windy in the morning. Our group went to the ox-bow on the creek. We had just started toward rim trail back to camp when we spotted a wolf on the bluff trying to hide from the wind. One of our guests got great photos as it turned and walked to another clearing, stood broadside, and then skedaddled into the alders. Took back trail through cranberry patch-some evidence of bears grubbing/rooting. Evening, we took the bear trail out of camp across two creeks, and up through cottonwood grove, then to vista of beaver creek. It was a good day.
