John's Camp Diary: August 2009

A few bears tested creek for fish in afternoon (on Saturday). Reddish wolf was laying on sand bar past great driftwood pile. Our group took photos looking down from the trail. The wolf crossed backwater of creek and stepped up to trail then looked straight at us. She then exited the trail into willow/alder patch. In the evening we found several bears lounging on banks of creek, then they sought some salmon though it was close to high tide. Viewed juxtaposed pair of ravens on a piece of driftwood upon our return to camp.

P.S. Earmuffs was obsevered regurgitating unknown material on sandbar.
