John's Camp Diary: August 2009

Two posts from John:

Friday: Ted was at the surf in the morning, and a sub-adult circled him menacingly. Audrey fished river till Ted plodded around curve like sherman tank. Guests were guided through cut-off trail in evening. The meadow had no bears when we arrived, but then a female and a large male surfaced from the trailhead we had just come through. A few bears frolicked on big river flat, mainly along primary river bed.
---
Thursday: There were mo river otters today. A reddish brown wolf visited the beach as a departing guest waited for arriving guests to vacate planes. Ted plied the waters of creek before heading for the surf. A medium bear chased a sub-adult 1/2 mile or more in the afternoon. Lots of critter action!
