John's Camp Diary: August 2009

We saw the reddish wolf again along trail. Late afternoon, into the evening on Sunday, we saw some bears fishing in creek. Ursula caught a fish and adark brown male bear bee-lined across the creek and followed Ursula and fish into willow /alder thicket. We thought they would hash it out there --but no!! They came blasting down hill 200 yards worth--full steam to beach-- Ursula won! She ate the fish when she returned to the meadow. We also saw a couple of bears and wolf together at one time-awesome. Then we had a critter blockade on way back to camp! Wonderful day of wildlife viewing at Hallo Bay Bear Camp.
